Baby Krishna defeated Putana
This story teaches us that good always wins over evil; kindness brings peace.

Story
Anaya was the storyteller of the neighbourhood. She loved telling stories at school, at home, or to friends in the neighbourhood. Kids would gather in the park every Friday to listen to a story.
This Friday, Anaya gathered her friends under a big, shady tree and screamed with a lot of excitement in her voice, “Story Time”. She couldn’t wait to tell them a story about baby Krishna, her favourite hero.
“Do you know about the time baby Krishna defeated a terrible demon?” Anaya began, her eyes sparkling with eagerness.
Her friends shouted back. “Tell us! Tell us!”

“Alright,” Anaya said. “Long ago, in a village called Gokul, baby Krishna lived with his parents, Yashoda and Nanda. He was so small and sweet that everyone in the village loved him. But there was a wicked king named Kansa who was scared of Krishna because he had heard that Krishna would one day defeat him.”
“What did Kansa do?” asked her friend Rohan, eagerly.
“Kansa sent a terrible demoness named Putana to Gokul,” Anaya continued. “She was known for harming kids. Putana could change her form. She became a beautiful lady and flew through the sky to Gokul. She wanted to harm Krishna. When she arrived, everyone thought she was a kind woman because she looked like a godess.”
“Oh no!” gasped her friend Meera.
“Yes,” Anaya said, nodding. “Putana picked up little Krishna and fed him milk. But her milk was full of poison! She thought Krishna Ji would fall asleep forever.”
“What happened then?” asked Deepu, his eyes wide.
Anaya grinned. “Little Krishna knew exactly who Putana was and what she was trying to do. He held her tightly and drank the milk. The milk didn't cause any harm to Bhagwan Krishna, but his power was so great that he drained all of Putana’s strength. She screamed and came back in her real, terrible form. She started flying in the air to scare little Krishna, but Krishna held the demoness tightly. Finally, after losing all her strength, Putna fell to the ground, defeated by little Krishna.”

“Wow! Baby Krishna defeated her?” Meera shouted.
“Yes,” Anaya said proudly. “Everyone in Gokul was amazed. They thanked Shri Krishna for protecting them.”
“Do you know, even though Putana was wicked, Krishna gave her peace because she had, in a way, acted like his mother by feeding him.”
Kids nodded their heads thoughtfully, happy and surprised at the same time.
Anaya said, “You know, there are so many things we can learn from this story.”
Deepu said, “Yes, good always wins over evil, even if the goodness appears weaker than the evil.”
Gyan said, “We should always do good things because Krishna Ji sees what’s in our hearts.”
“I love this story,” Meera said. “Baby Krishna was so brave and kind.”
“He was,” Anaya said with a smile. “That’s why I always pray to him when I’m scared. I know he’s always there to protect us.”
Her friends nodded, feeling inspired by Krishna’s bravery and kindness. They decided they would remember this story whenever they face their fears.
