myNachiketa happily presents 10 lines on Bhagwan Mahavira.
Bhagwan Mahavira was born in 599 BCE in Kundagrama, near Vaishali, in present-day Bihar, India.
His birth name was Vardhamana, and he was born into a royal family.
At the age of 30, he gave up his kingdom and family to seek spiritual knowledge and self-realization.
After 12 years of intense meditation, fasting, and self-discipline, Bhagwan Mahavira attained true wisdom (Kevala Jnana) and became a teacher.
He taught the importance of living life by 5 principles: non-violence (Ahimsa), truthfulness (Satya), not stealing (Asteya), disciplined life, (Brahmacharya), and non-possessiveness (Aparigraha).
These principles form the core of Jain philosophy and promote a life of peace, compassion, and respect for all living beings.
Bhagwan Mahavira emphasized that every person is capable of attaining true wisdom through the right knowledge, right faith, and right conduct.
Bhagwan Mahavira travelled to many places, sharing his teachings, and inspiring people to follow Jainism.
He attained nirvana (spiritual awakening) at Pavapuri (in modern-day Bihar) at the age of 72. This site is now a significant pilgrimage destination for Jains.
His message of love, peace, and kindness is still remembered and followed by millions of people today.
