The Game of Truth

Story It was summer vacation. Megha, Seema, and some of their friends had gone to a summer camp. The camp was full of fun activities designed to teach through play. But the most unique and interesting activity was called “The Game of Truth.”

The rules of the game were simple — each child would be asked some questions, and whoever told the truth would move to the next level. If someone lied, the path would close for them. And so, the exciting game began.

Level One – The Magical Door

The children were asked to stand in front of a shiny golden door. On the door, it was written: “Truth is the key.”

The camp guide smiled and said, “Megha, it’s your turn. Tell us, have you ever lied after making a mistake?”

Megha thought for a moment and said, “Yes, once I accidentally spilt water on my dad’s book. I got scared, so I told him that my little brother did it.”

As soon as Megha told the truth, the door began to glow and slowly opened. Inside, there was a note showing the path to the next level. Megha moved on.

Next, it was Seema’s turn. She was asked, “Have you ever lied about not doing your homework?”

Seema immediately said, “No, never!”

But in reality, she had done it several times. The door did not open, no light appeared, and there was no clue to move forward. Seema felt disappointed and realised that to move ahead, she needed to tell the truth.

Level Two – The Talking Tree

In front of Megha now stood a large tree. The tree had eyes and could speak.

The tree said, “If you speak the truth, I will show you the way forward.”

It asked, “Have you ever been dishonest in a game?” Megha nodded and said, “Yes, once I did. But later I admitted my mistake and told the truth.”

The tree was pleased. From its leaves, it dropped a shiny arrow, which landed on the ground pointing towards the next door.

Level Three – The Shining Cave

Ahead was a deep cave, completely dark inside. A voice echoed from the walls: “Only those who tell the truth about their fears will pass through here.”

Megha bravely said, “I am afraid of the dark!”

As soon as she spoke the truth, tiny lights appeared inside the cave. The path became clear, and Megha crossed the cave easily.

Finally, Megha reached an open field where the camp guides were waiting. They smiled and said, “Megha, you have won this game.

You have shown that winning doesn’t require running fast or being clever. True strength lies in speaking the truth.”

Seema and the other children also realised that telling the truth may feel difficult, but it opens every door and shows the right path.
