ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं चामुण्डायै विच्चै ॐ कालरात्रि दैव्ये नम:
Om Aim Hreem Kleem Chamundayai Vichchai Oom Kalaratri Daivye Namah
Saina was a young girl in class 5. She had always been a timid and fearful girl. She was scared of being alone and also of darkness. She never entered a dark room whether in the house or in school. She would even get scared going to the washroom all alone.
Her friends made fun of her and teased her by calling her “Coward Saina.” Her brother at home would often prank her. Whenever Saina entered a room, he would switch off the light and run away. Similarly, in school everyone pranked her. Children would leave her alone in class, in the auditorium in complete darkness.

One day, Saina was crying a lot. She told her mother, “I will not go to school from tomorrow. Everyone in school calls me a coward. They leave me alone in complete darkness and laugh at me. I will not go to school, I have decided.”
Saina was crying heartbrokenly. Her mother took her in her arms and said, “Saina, you are never alone. You don’t need to fear anything. Devi Kaalratri is always with you. She takes care of you all the time.”
Saina stopped crying after listening to her mother but, she had numerous questions in her mind.
She asked, “Who is Devi Kaalratri? I don’t see her when I am alone. She does not hold my hand when everyone leaves me alone in a dark room. How is she taking care of me?”
Her mother smiled and said, “My loving and dear Saina, Maa Kaalratri is a form of Maa Durga worshipped on the seventh day of Navratri. There was a demon Raktabeej, who had become very powerful and undefeatable. Whenever a drop of blood from his body fell on the ground, another Raktbeej would appear. It was Maa Durga who transformed herself into a very fiery form as Devi Kaalratri. She then defeated the demon.”
Saina was very keen to know more and said, “Maa, I want to know more about her. Please tell me everything.”
Her mother replied, “Okay, I will tell you more about her.”
“Maa Kaalratri is worshipped to remove our fears and negativities. She appears fierce and fearful but at heart, she is very helpful for her devotees. Whenever anyone prays to her, she helps them and removes their problems.”
“Maa does not come physically to help but she makes her presence felt. By chanting her mantra and worshipping her, Maa Kaalrati makes you so strong that you conquer your terrors and anxieties.
Saina asked, “Mother, if I pray to her will I be free from my fears?
The mother replies, "Yes, of course! You will be free from your worries and fears, and you'll become a braver, more confident girl."
Since that day, Saina regularly worshipped Devi Kaalratri and slowly she overcame her fear of loneliness and darkness. She thanked the Devi daily and continued praying to her.
