Learn the Power of Listening to God Pic 1

Children, did you know that listening is a superpower? Not just to your parents or teachers — but also to God! When we listen carefully, we understand what is right, what is kind, and what makes us better people. God may not speak with a loud voice, but He whispers gently to our hearts.

The month of Shravan is a very special time when we learn to listen to God’s messages — through stories, prayers, and quiet moments in our hearts. The month of Shravan teaches us to focus on God, be pure in our thoughts, and do good karma. It reminds us that when we connect to God with love and sincerity, He fills our life with peace and blessings.

myNachiketa brings to you a short story on Shravan, where we can learn the power of listening to God.

Do you know, dear children, that there are many other examples from our Upanishads where we come to know that when we listen to God, we get the wisdom of life.

Nachiketa learned the truth about the Atman (soul) and became truly wise. His story is told in the Kathopanishad. You can also read the complete story here: "Story of Nachiketa."

Satyakama listened carefully to nature, to animals, to the fire — and all of them taught him great truths. Because of his listening and sincerity, he found knowledge and God. His story is told in Chhandogya Upanishad. You can also read the complete story here: "Story of Satyakam."

So children, now you know how powerful and magical listening can be — especially when we listen with a quiet mind and a loving heart. Whether it's Nachiketa, Satyakama, or Arjuna, all these great souls found truth and wisdom because they listened with faith and patience.

This Shravan, let us also try to listen to God — in the stories we read, in the prayers we say, and in the gentle voice inside us that tells us to be kind, honest, and good.
