Story 1: The Kind Little Squirrel

In a big green, there lived a little squirrel named Sammy. As winter approached, Sammy hustled to collect acorns but realised he wasn't gathering enough. One sunny day, while looking for food, he saw a little bird struggling to collect twigs for her nest. Sammy thought, “I should help her, even if I’m busy.”
Instead of focusing only on his own needs, Sammy decided to share some of his acorns with the bird. He said, “Take these and rest a bit.”
“Thank you so much, Sammy!” chirped the bird, her eyes sparkling with gratitude. With Sammy’s help, the bird built a lovely nest just in time for winter. When it turned cold, the bird shared her cozy nest with Sammy whenever he felt lonely.
From that day on, Sammy learned that sharing brings happiness and that being kind can turn strangers into friends.
Story 2: Rita's New Friend

Once upon a time, in a cheerful little neighbourhood, a girl named Rita moved into a new home. Everything felt strange and new, even the sound of the doorbell! On her first day at school, Rita felt lonely as she wandered through the playground. Groups of children were laughing and playing together, but she didn’t know anyone yet. She quietly sat on a bench, watching them, hoping someone might say hello. Just then, she noticed a boy sitting alone, looking very sad.
Instead of ignoring him, she bravely approached the boy and said, “Hi! I am Rita. Would you like to play with me?” The boy looked up in surprise and then smiled back. “I’m Arun,” he said happily. “Yes, I’d love to!” The boy’s face lit up, and they started playing together. Soon, they became the best of friends!
Rita’s kind act reminded everyone that kindness can turn loneliness into joy. Who knew that a small greeting could open the door to friendship?
Story 3: The Lost Puppy

One sunny afternoon, a cheerful boy named Tarun was walking home from school, swinging his backpack and humming a tune. Suddenly, he heard soft whimpers coming from behind a bush. Curious, he peeked closer and found a tiny brown puppy, shivering and looking lost. Its eyes were full of fear, and its tail was tucked between its legs.
Instead of ignoring the puppy, Tarun gently picked him up and took him home. “Don’t worry, little one, I’ll help you find your owner!” Tarun thought. He gave the puppy food and water. The next morning, Tarun and his parents made colorful posters with the puppy’s picture. They went around the neighborhood putting them up on trees and notice boards. Soon, other children joined in the search, too! Everyone in the neighbourhood joined in to search. By evening, a woman came running toward Tarun’s house. “That’s my puppy!” she cried with happy tears. The puppy barked and ran straight into her arms. Everyone smiled, and Tarun felt his heart glow with joy.
Tarun learned that helping those in need brings joy and can connect us all.

Story 4: A Day of Kindness

In a small, cheerful town lived a bright girl named Lata. One morning, she woke up and said to herself, “Today, I’ll make it a Kindness Day! I’ll do as many good things as I can!” She began by smiling and greeting everyone she met - “Good morning, Chadha aunty!”. Then, she saw an elderly man struggling with his grocery bags and quickly ran over to help him carry them home. He thanked her with a warm smile. Later that day, she noticed her friend Mia looking sad because her toy had broken. Without thinking twice, Lata shared her favorite doll so that Mia could play happily again.
All day long, people responded to her kind deeds with big smiles. They, too, began to act kindly - for instance, one friend helped Lata with her homework!
Lata realised that kindness is like a ripple in a pond; it spreads and makes everything happier. Everyone began to feel the joy her small acts created!
Story 5: Balram and the Big Birthday

Balram was excitedly preparing for his birthday party. His house was full of colorful balloons, yummy treats, and happy laughter. As he went to hand out his invitations, he noticed a new boy sitting alone near the playground. The boy had just moved into the town and didn’t know anyone yet. Balram remembered how lonely he had once felt when he was new to school. He thought, “If I invite him, he’ll feel happy too!” So, with a bright smile, Balram walked over and said, “Hey! I’m having a birthday party today. Would you like to come?” “Come and celebrate with us!” The new boy’s eyes sparkled with joy. At the party, everyone played games, laughed together, and even danced. The new boy became friends with everyone, and Balram realized that kindness can turn strangers into friends and make any celebration more special.
Balram learned that inclusion brings happiness to everyone. By being kind and welcoming, we can help make someone feel special and loved. That night, Balram went to bed with a happy heart, knowing he had made someone feel loved and included.
