God Is One – Why People Call Him by Different Names Pic 1

We all believe in God and call Him by different names. Some of us say Hare Krishna, some say Jai Shri Ram, some say Jesus, some say Jai Maa Kali, and some say Waheguru. But we all believe in the same loving God!

It’s just like how your friends may call you by different nicknames, but you are still one person. In the same way, God is one, even if people see and call Him in different ways.

We hear names like Shri Krishna, Ram Ji, Bhagwan Shiva, and Maa Durga. Each of these names shows different qualities of God and the many ways He connects with us. Dear Children, imagine an ice cream shop filled with endless flavours! Each flavour represents a different name of God, but all ice creams come from the same delicious base: Milk. Just like that, God is One whom we call Brahman or Parmatma (the Highest Being/Soul).

God has many names

Bhagwan Krishna is often known as the playful and loving God, who teaches us about friendship, duties, actions, and caring for one another. In the Bhagavad Gita, Shri Krishna says:

सुखदुःखयुज्योऽस्मि।

मय्येव मन आधत्स्व।

This means, “In joy and sorrow, I am there. Focus your mind on Me.” This shows that God is always with us, guiding us even during difficult times.

On the other hand, Bhagwan Ram, we remember his bravery and goodness. He fought to rescue his wife, Devi Sita, showing us the importance of duty, responsibility, and love in our lives. Ram Ji teaches us to be honest and brave, standing up for what is right even when there are many challenges.

Bhagwan Shiva is a powerful and wise God. When people close their eyes and think of Him, they feel peaceful and calm inside. Shiv Ji teaches us that we can change and grow if we try. He shows us how to: Stay calm even when things go wrong, let go of anger and bad habits, and be strong, simple, and loving.

Goddess Durga! She is a goddess of strength, courage, and protection. In the festival of Durga Puja, we celebrate Her victory over evil, teaching us to fight against wrong and stand up for justice in the world around us.

People call God by different names because each name shows something special they feel or believe about God. Everyone sees God in their way, like a friend, a helper, a guide, or a protector.

Dear children, when you help a friend in need, you are showing the qualities of kindness, just like Bhagwan Krishna. When you stand up for justice, just like Shri Ram, you are following the truth. When you face challenges bravely, you show the spirit of Maa Durga within you.
