Mantras from Vedas

Mantras from Vedas

The Vedas are a collection of very old religious books from ancient India. They are written in a special language called Vedic Sanskrit and are the oldest sacred texts in Hinduism. The word "Veda" means "knowledge" because these books are full of wisdom.

There are four main Vedas:

  1. Rigveda: The oldest Veda, filled with songs praising different gods.

  2. Samaveda: A book of songs and chants, mostly taken from the Rigveda, sung during special ceremonies.
