Teachings of Shri Vallabhacharya

Shri Vallabhacharya (1479–1531 CE) was a great philosopher and saint from India who founded the Pushti Marg (Path of Grace). He was born in Champaranya, a part of present-day Chhattisgarh. Shri Vallabhacharya travelled all over India to spread the message of Bhakti (devotion). Shri Vallabhacharya’s teachings revolve around the Suddhadvaita philosophy—seeing the world as an important part of Shri Krishna.

myNachiketa presents teachings of Shri Vallabhacharya for children to read and learn, helping them understand the values of love, devotion, kindness, and selfless service.

1. Seva (Selfless Service) is worship

Serving God by taking care of His creation—be it people, nature, or animals—is as important as offering prayers. Helping others is the best way to show your love for God. Share what you have, be kind, and care for people.

Teachings of Shri Vallabhacharya 1

Dear children, you should help your friends, family, teachers, and everyone whenever possible, happily and lovingly.

2.   God is always loving

God loves everyone and is always kind. When life feels hard, remember that God is always there to help you, just like a parent holding your hand. God is like your best friend who always wants you to be happy.

Teachings of Shri Vallabhacharya 2

Dear children, remember that when you are having troubles in your school, or with friends, or in studies, God is always there protecting you. You should always have faith in Him. Shri Vallabhacharya taught that we should live under God’s grace, which means trusting that God will take care of us.

3. God is the real owner of everything

God is present everywhere, not just in temples or idols. According to the teachings of Shri Vallabhacharya, every soul is a part of God, which means God lives in every heart and everything around us.

Teachings of Shri Vallabhacharya 4

Children, you should treat everyone kindly, just as you would treat God. Treat everyone and everything with respect, as they are reflections of God.

4. Worldly life is not separate from devotion

Shri Vallabhacharya said that you don’t need to give up your everyday life to worship God. He said that devotion to God is not limited to temples, prayers, or rituals. It is something we can practice in every moment of our daily lives.

Teachings of Shri Vallabhacharya 5

Dear Children, even small acts like studying, helping at home, and playing can be offered to God if done with love and gratitude. Before eating, we can thank God for providing us with food and dedicate it to Him. This simple act turns eating into a form of gratitude and devotion.

5. Be content with what you have

Shri Vallabhacharya said that contentment is a path to inner peace and devotion. Being content doesn’t mean we should stop trying to improve ourselves or give up our dreams—it means finding joy and gratitude in what we already have while trusting that God will provide what is best for us.

Teachings of Shri Vallabhacharya 6

Dear children, contentment removes feelings of greed, jealousy, and dissatisfaction, allowing us to live with a calm and happy mind. Do not ask for more and more; rather, be happy with what you have.

6. Live simply

Shri Vallabhacharya said that living simply means focusing on love, kindness, and devotion rather than chasing material possessions. Running after material things—like expensive clothes, gadgets, or fame—can feel endless and exhausting. Shri Vallabhacharya reminded us that these things can never fully satisfy us.

Teachings of Shri Vallabhacharya 7

Dear children, you can live a simple life by letting go of unnecessary wants, sharing what you have, and focusing on love, kindness, and gratitude.

7. No caste distinctions

Shri Vallabhacharya said that everyone, regardless of caste, can attain God through devotion. He believed that devotion is the only thing that matters, not a person’s caste, wealth, or position in society. Anyone can connect with God by praying, singing his praises, or simply loving him with a pure heart.

Teachings of Shri Vallabhacharya 8

Dear Children, you can connect with God by remembering him with a pure heart. God doesn’t care about how rich, expensive clothes, or toys you have—He only cares about the love in your hearts.

8. Atma‑nivedana (Complete Surrender)

The highest form of devotion is total self-surrender—giving up body, heart, and soul to Bhagwan Krishna without expecting anything in return. Shri Vallabhacharya said that complete surrender means letting go of fear and fully trusting that Krishna will take care of you in every situation.

Teachings of Shri Vallabhacharya 9

Children, when you study, play, help someone, or perform any action without seeking reward, that is complete surrender. When we surrender to Shri Krishna with a pure heart, He fills our lives with his blessings and love.
