बड़ा हुआ तो क्या हुआ, जैसे पेड़ खजूर
पंथी को छाया नहीं, फल लागे अति दूर॥
Bada hua to kya hua, jaise ped khajoor
Panthi ko chhaya nahi, phal lage ati door
Kabirdas says that being humble and sharing knowledge with others is the quality of great people.
Respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends, good morning.
Today, as we have all gathered here on the auspicious occasion of Kabir Das Jayanti, I am happy to share my thoughts in honour of the great poet, saint and philosopher Sant Kabirdas. Kabir Das lived around the 15th century and spread the message of kindness and equality through his simple couplets (dohas), which were full of wisdom.
Kabir lived a simple life. He was born in Varanasi and raised by a Muslim weaver family. Legend even says he was found as a baby floating on the riverbank, and a weaver couple named Niru and Nima adopted him and raised him with love and care. Since childhood, Kabirdas had a heart full of love and wisdom. He composed hundreds of beautiful couplets in simple Hindi so everyone could understand and begin their journey towards finding God. His dohas became so famous that many schools now include them in their lessons.
Kabir’s Dohe always teaches important values- to speak the truth, live honestly, and be kind to others.
Buy and read our special book, Discovering God, to understand these concepts deeply.

Kabir Das taught us to see God in everyone. He respected all religions equally and encouraged everyone to be treated with respect. He believed that doing good and loving others are more important than just following rituals without understanding.
He reminds us that we are all the same in God’s eyes and should live in peace and harmony with each other. He encouraged everyone to seek truth or God within oneself, and not in the world outside. Kabirdas wrote dohas to show how important a guru (teacher) is in helping us become wise and understand the truth.
Kabir Das Jayanti falls on the full moon day of the Jyeshtha month (usually in May or June). On this day, people celebrate by listening to his poems, singing bhajans, and remembering his message. On this day, people share food and clothes with the needy, spreading the message of kindness and compassion.
In many schools, special programs are held to praise the life and teachings of Saint Kabirdas. Children recite Kabir’s dohas and explain their meanings.

Kabir Das Jayanti is a joyful day to remember a saint who loved truth and humanity. Kabir’s words teach us that change begins within ourselves. His simple doha says we should look at ourselves first and be kind to others.
Let us be inspired by Kabirdas's deep wisdom and try to live a life of honesty and kindness. I encourage everyone to read more of Kabir’s dohas and follow his message every day.
Thank you, and Happy Kabir Das Jayanti to all!
